The new BMW 5 Series came about the latest Euro NCAP crash test with the highest rating of 5 stars. The 6th generation of the model sequence did imposingly on the test – which was broadened to include extra standards in 2009 – with its all-inclusive safety fittings as benchmark as well as an extremely efficient vehicle occupier security system for a variety of different crash types. With its exceptional results on pedestrian protection, vehicle occupant protection for adults and children and standard safety features, the new BMW 5 Series goes into the leadership position within its section. It is also the first BMW model series to get a 100% on the Euro NCAP crash test rating for exceptional safety features.

The NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) test is considered as one of the most challenging trials in the world to be enforced to new motor vehicles. The Euro NCAP test is distinguished as a standard for crash safety by governments, automobile clubs and consumer defense organizations all over Europe.
