The BMW 5-Series Active Hybrid has been Spotted

5 January 2011 | No Comments » | Jeroen

5-Series ActiveHybrid which will get underway in 2011 has been spied. BMW is stretching forth its ActiveHybrid engineering science to the (F10) 5-Series, having before now declared the prototype for a 2011 first appearance and bringing out a conception 5-Series ActiveHybrid at the Geneva motor show previously this year.

A set of spy shots of BMW trying out the 5-Series hybrid in and around Munich was spotted and reproduced. The two mocks up made out here are each transmitting a ‘Hybrid Test Vehicle’ marker at the rear and are in cooperation marked as a 535i and sporting twofold discharge pipes.

This is keeping in line and as much as we know so far. That the ActiveHybrid structural design for the 5-Series calls for the pairing of a 3.0 liter straight-six twin-turbo petrol engine giving rise to 306 PS which is 225 kW with a 54 PS which is 40 kW electric motor handled by an 8-speed involuntary gear box.

According to BMW, this arrangement is of high-quality for a 10 percent enhancement in fuel-economy over other 5-Series prototypes; most probably that entails a little extra kick and improved mileage over the normal 535i.

The reports that BMW contrives to change the 1-Series to a front-wheel drive program in 2015 may make clear why BMW has been so mysterious about just how many forms or body modes would be deduced from its new FWD platform. BMW of late registered trademark applications in the United States for the plates 228, 230, and 235, which indicate that a 6-cylinder power plant for the new 2-Series, even though, BMW’s marking no longer invariably represents to what is under the bonnet.

BMW X4, X3 35iS, X3M hearsays

3 October 2010 | No Comments » | Jeroen

BMW Blog has the dig on some likely new BMW replicas, as per the coverage of an obvious inside resource that goes by the name Scott26. Scott26 has an imposing track record of revealing accurate information before made public.

Still assumed with a strong does of atheism, Scott26 describes that BMW is, at the very least, taking into account the subsequent models: An X4, an X3 M and an X3 35iS.

The most attractive of these is, of course, the X4, which would be an absolutely new model. It would essentially be a baby take on the X6. Stylistically, it would look like the X6′s sport coupe/SUV design, while the car would allocate much of its structure of engines and skill, almost certainly even its proposal, with the X3 range.

“BMW are keen to capitalize on the success of the X6 by offering a ‘downsized’ version of [it],” publishes Scott26 on BMW Blog.

But that is not to leave out a most likely X3 M alternative. “An X3M using the power plant from the upcoming 1M is on the table also,” pens Scott26, even though, he states, no ultimate decision has been made.
