This 2012 BMW 1-Series was caught when it was undergoing winter testing in Northern Europe. This particular type of coupe has only one tailpipe regardless of having 2 exhaust pipe cut-outs in the glass fascia.

Formerly this model was seen with 2 tailpipes which indicate that it is a turbocharged model. Now this prototype has an unsurprisingly-drew out engine this time. Irrespective of its power plant, the restyled 1-Series will have modern style, LED tail lamps, and a bold double kidney grille.

Under the cover, petrol engines will, as expected, include a 105bhp 1.3-liter. It will also have a Peugeot-obtained 1.6-liter turbo with minimum136bhp (100kW). It will also have a 3.0-liter twin-turbo M1 with 350bhp and 500Nm of torsion.
The last engine will be matched to a bivalent-clutch gearbox. This will allow the M1 to speed up from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds or less. On the diesel side, one can anticipate the 118i with 150bhp, the 120d with 184bhp, and the 123d with 211bhp.
This redesigned 1-Series 5 door will go on sale in mid-2011, with coupe and adaptable models can be anticipated shortly thereafter.
BMW’s current venture into the world of Efficient Dynamics will also most probably end up in a “green” 1-Series with ultra-low expelling and astral fuel-efficiency. It will also have an ActiveE version.
It has also come to notice that BMW has been trying out the 1-Series with a Kistler RoaDyn wheel coerces and torsion sensor scheme. This form is normally used for trying four-wheel drive and also the all-wheel drive fomites.

BMW is facing very hard days and it is not able to make much money on the 1-series. This particular brand is capped in its higher price range due to competition with the 3-series. It has the same features and technology and is almost the same size as its larger brother. To solve this problem BMW is planning to reduce its production costs but at the same time having extra features in its next 1-series which is due in 2011 or 2012.

Engines and fuel efficiency will also play a vital role in the next-gen 1-series. The Europeans will get an all-new 3 cylinder turbo petrol unit which is rated at an approximated 110hp (82kW). The new engine plus its new technology which can be applied to the 116d’s diesel engine, will allow more models for lesser CO2 emissions under 100g/km.
