The new BMW Z4 is an imitation of its archenemy SLK roadster. The difference is that the new BMW Z4 has ditched its canvas roof by preferring a more stylish retractile steel hard top.

The new Z4 is perfectly suitable for the very best and most awful of the disgracefully random British weather. The Z4′s roof can be raised or even lowered down in 20 seconds and considerably gains the all-round profile that is so limited in the case of rag-tops. It also means more space in the boot, which ranges from 180 liters to 310 liters according to whether the roof is up or down.
The 2.3-liter edition gives 204bhp for a top speed of 150mph, speedup to 60mph in 6.6 seconds, saving of 33mpg and a CO2 placing of 199g/km.
The 3.0-liter version has a control output of 258bhp, a high speed restricted to 155mph, speedup to 60mph in 5.8 seconds, saving of 33mpg and a CO2 measure of 199g/km.
